Pay montly or pay upfront?
We offer two different types of membership contracts:
-Pay Monthly: Convenient automatic monthly payments.
-Pay Upfront: One upfront payment for the entire duration of the contract.
Longer term contracts have a lower price per month.
Pay monthly contract
Our Pay Monthly contract is a 12-month contract with a minimum commitment period. It renews automatically until you decide to end it.
Pay Monthly contracts are our most popular type of contracts. With automatic monthly payments and no fixed end date, they are the most convenient option.
Pay Monthly contracts do not have a fixed end date, but they do have a minimum commitment period. Promising to stay at the studio for a longer period of time is how we are able to offer you savings on the cost of your membership fees. However if you decide that you want to end your contract and leave the studio before you have completed your minimum commitment period, there will be a cancellation fee to pay.
We offer 3 different options for the Pay Monthly Contract:
- 2-month minimum commitment
- 6-month minimum commitment
- 12-month minimum commitment
Pay Monthly contracts do not end automatically after your minimum commitment period expires. It will keep renewing automatically until you give us notice that you want to end your contract and leave the studio.
Pay Upfront contract
The Pay Upfront contract offers the best value for money. You can save money by paying a single fee upfront for a longer period of time.
Upfront contracts can not be ended before their expiration date. Membership fees are non-refundable and memberships can not be transferred to another person.
If you choose an Upfront contract, you can still stay at the studio for as long as you want. Just let our team know at least a month before your contract ends that you would like to renew your contract and keep your membership at the studio, and we’ll arrange everything for you. Don’t leave it til too late though - if we don’t hear from you, we’ll start assigning a new member to take over your place. It may not be possible to extend your membership once we’ve given your place to a new member.
If you are on a Pay Monthly contract, you can switch over to a different membership contract once your minimum commitment period has expired.
If you are on an Upfront contract, you can choose a new contract once your current contract has ended.
Terminating your membership
We’ll be sad to see you go - but when it’s time to say goodbye, here’s what to do:
Pay monthly contracts
If you are on a Pay Monthly contract, you will need to give us notice in writing (email) at least one month in advance of your billing cycle.
For example if your billing date is the 15th of every month and you would like to leave on 15th September, you’ll need to give us notice before 15th August.
If you decide to end your membership before you have completed your minimum commitment period you will be liable to an Early Termination fee. This fee is calculated based on how much time has lapsed on your contract and the difference in price with the closest matching contract.
For example if you have a contract with a minimum commitment of 12 months, and you would like to terminate it after 8 months, your Early Termination fee will be based on the difference in fees compared to 8 months on a 6 month commitment contract.
If you have an Upfront contract your membership will expire at the end of it. All you need to do is let us know about a month before the end date that you will not be renewing your membership so that we can line up a new member to take over your place.
All membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you decide to leave the studio before your upfront contract expires, any membership fees you’ve paid will be forfeited. It is not possible to transfer your membership to another person.
Suspending your membership
If you would like to take a break from the studio, you can suspend your membership.
You have to have been a member at the studio for at least 2 months before you can schedule a suspension.
To schedule your membership suspension you’ll have to give the studio 1 month notice in writing (email).
The minimum period for a suspension is 2 months and the maximum length is 6 months. If you do not return to the studio within 6 months, your membership will be terminated and any membership fees and deposits will be forfeited.
When you suspend your membership, you’ll have to clear your shelf and take all your personal belongings and pots home with you. Any personal items, tools or pots that are left behind when your suspension starts will be discarded as the studio is not able to store or look after them. Alternatively, your suspension is not going to start if your shelf hasn’t been cleared.
Pay monthly contracts
If you are on a Monthly Payment contract and you would like to suspend your membership before your minimum commitment period has completed, you’ll need to pay a Suspension Deposit. This deposit is calculated based on how much time has lapsed on your contract and the difference in price with the closest matching contract.
For example if you have a contract with a minimum commitment of 12 months, and you would like to suspend it after 8 months, your suspension deposit will be based on the difference in fees compared to 8 months on a 6 month commitment contract.
This deposit will be returned to when you restart your membership as a discount on your next monthly membership bill. The maximum length for a suspension is 6 month. If you do not restart your membership within 6 months your membership will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited.
Pay upfront contracts
If you have an Upfront contract and less than 1 month left on your membership, we’ll ask you to renew your membership and purchase a new contract before you return to the studio.
