New courses usually go on sale roughly one month before they start, a batch at a time. If a course isn’t showing, it isn’t scheduled yet. Popular courses can go fast, so it’s worth hearing about them first:
Get new course dates by email
This list only sends new class dates. It doesn’t add you to our main mailing list, so you won’t get our other news or offers unless you’ve joined that too, at the bottom of any page.
On most courses, you should be able to catch up in your next lesson. It isn’t possible to catch up on a class, reschedule it, or sit in on a lesson on a different course, and the same applies to lessons missed through illness. The first few and last few lessons matter most, so please check you can make every date before you book.
Once a place has been booked, the fees are non-refundable. If we can still sell your place to another student before the course starts, we’ll swap it over and refund you. Once a course has started, we can’t refund you or move you to a different course. Full details are in our cancellation policy.
Please email us, using the form below, with your booking reference if you have one.
All our courses are suitable for every level, except those advertised as intermediate. Want to try it once first? We run wheel-throwing taster sessions.
Children can’t come into our studios, because of the risks in a working studio, except on our children’s courses (ages 11 and up) or on an open day with an adult.
A taster is a single three-hour session for people who’ve never touched a wheel. A masterclass is a short run of one to three sessions on one technique. Dates are on our workshops page when they’re scheduled.
Yes, Klarna is available at checkout, although it may not show up as a payment option for everyone.

Through our membership page. You pay for your first month, or block of months, choose your start date at checkout and book your induction at the end. Any ceramics course counts as experience, here or elsewhere. If you’re a complete beginner you can still join, with a few hours of private tuition before you work on your own.
You can do it yourself, without waiting for us: sign in to Mindbody with the email you joined with, open My Info and update your card there. Forgotten your password? Reset it on the sign-in page.
Yes. Upfront is the lowest price, paid once at the start. Six and 12 months upfront are paid by bank transfer rather than card, whether you’re joining or renewing: write to us below, choosing “Paying upfront”, and we’ll send you our bank details. To move from Pay Monthly to Pay Upfront, we’ll work out the difference and move you across at your next billing date.
Yes, with the Course Membership Upgrade, if your course has at least four weeks left and you’re new to membership or haven’t been a member in the last 12 months. It’s £99 for the first month, then £149 a month until your course ends, at Leyton and Hoxton. We email you a sign-up link when you book. The full terms are on the Course Membership Upgrade page.
Daily except Mondays, at 2pm or 5.30pm. They’re booked when you sign up. If you missed that step, send us an email saying when you’ll be able to come.
All membership payments go through one account, named after our Leyton studio. You’re still a member of the studio you joined.
Up to 15 hours a week, or 22 on Studio Membership Plus. Hours don’t carry over, because that would make the system less stable and create congestion in the studio.
Prices for every plan are on our membership page. Access is the same on every plan; the price depends on how long you commit for.
Please email us, using the form below, and tell us what the payment was for.
No. We keep the price as low as we can by sharing the costs evenly, and that only works if each membership is one person. Guests aren’t possible for health and safety reasons.

Notice has to reach us in writing, so this one does need a message. These answers tell you what to put in it.
Pay Monthly: email us at least one month before your billing date. Your membership then ends on your next billing date after that month has passed. For example, if your billing date is the 15th and you’d like to leave on 15 September, tell us before 15 August. Inside your minimum commitment there’s an early termination fee.
Pay Upfront: your membership ends on its expiry date and there’s nothing you need to do.
A message to the studio, by email or this form, counts as written notice. A conversation at the studio doesn’t start the clock.
Yes, once per 12 months, for 2 to 6 months, with a month’s notice in writing, once you’ve been a member for 2 months. Clear your shelf before it starts, because we can’t store your work. Inside your minimum commitment there’s a suspension deposit, which comes back as a discount on your first bill when you restart. Come back within six months, or the membership ends.

We provide over 20 ready-mixed glazes developed by our technical team, with test tiles so you can see how they fire. On a course, you can’t bring your own clay, glazes or other ceramic materials.
No. We can’t fire anything made outside our studios, because our firing schedule is already tight, and we fire our kilns every day so don’t have the capacity to rent them out. We recommend Kilnshare.
Our clay is sold to our members and Open-Studio Pass holders only, so otherwise we can’t sell you clay. We recommend Ceramatech, based in Tottenham, which delivers across London.
Not in any of our studios. We fire stoneware.

Hoxton, Leyton and Highgate: any time during our opening hours. Camden Art Centre: Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm. Laburnum Street: Monday to Thursday 7pm to 9.30pm, Saturday 11am to 1.30pm and 3pm to 5.30pm, Sunday 11am to 1.30pm. Bring boxes or wrapping to carry your work home.
Wait at least two weeks after your last lesson. Work goes through the kiln in batches rather than one piece at a time.
Please collect your work within two months of the end of your course.

Yes. You can visit any time during opening hours, with no booking needed. Ask a technician to show you round.
Tuesday to Thursday 10am to 10pm, Friday to Sunday 10am to 8pm. Our studios are closed to members and pass holders on Mondays, though some classes still run. Our office hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.
None of our studios has its own parking. There’s limited street parking nearby, and Leyton has a car park at the roundabout. Public transport is usually easier: addresses and directions.
Coming to look round: nothing.
On a course: a clean apron, and clothes and shoes that can get messy. Clay and glazes are included. Tools aren’t: bring your own, or add a basic 8-piece toolkit for £5 when you book.
On a children’s course: clothes they don’t mind getting clay on, and closed-toe shoes. We have aprons at every studio.
Members and Open-Studio Pass holders: your own apron and hand tools. Toolkits are £5 from the studio. You buy clay at the studio; glazes and equipment are here.
Aprons: pick a synthetic fabric over cotton or wool, because natural fibres trap clay dust.

Enter the code at checkout when you book, and the value comes off the price. It can be spent on our courses, workshops and Open-Studio Passes, in stages across several bookings.
Twelve months from the date it was bought.
Not online, because our systems aren’t set up that way. Write to us below and we’ll sort it out for you.
No. Once bought, a voucher can’t be refunded or exchanged for cash, but you can pass it on to someone else.

Yes, up to one hour before it starts. You can cancel it by emailing us below. Please tell us as early as you can.
No, you buy it at the studio, the same as members do. You can keep your bag in the shared clay rack for up to 4 weeks, labelled with your name and your last session date.
£4.50 per litre of what you actually fire. A standard mug is roughly half a litre, so about £2.25.
